Many of GOOGLE ADSENSE publishers do not give their websites/blogs a good user
experience when it comes to placing of Google ads on the ad spaces. You should
know that where you put your ads is important as the content on your blog. Some
positions usually annoy users since the ads end up interrupting your blog
readers and others hide some of the content on the blog. According to a survey 30%
of these publishers place ads wrongly in order to initiate more clicks from the
blog readers as they try to avoid and put off the ads in order to reach the
hidden content. The 70% others do not have the slightest idea on which ad
layouts to use on a particular page.
Publishers
should always remember that Google requires their websites to have a good user
experience enabling users to easily navigate around and find the information
they seek. Placing the ads wrongly does
not only make the website/blog have a bad user experience but makes your blog
readers to loose confidence with your content and no one will be willing to
return to your blog to read more. Remember you need the traffic in order to
make money.
The first
impression of everything is what attracts people and that’s why I always
encourage publishers to have a well designed website. If your design is simple
avoid placing many ads.
In this
article I will inform you on the best ad layout to try on your websites.
Along the header of the main page of your blog, I would recommend a
publisher to use a banner ads, or leader board if your blog design does not
have enough ad space for a bigger banner. On the header you can include both
textual and image ads.
Along the slider page on the main
page I would
recommend use of sky crappers, square banners, mobile banners.
Here is
where most publishers mess and end up placing big ads which extend and cover
the blog content. Use for mobile ads and sky crappers in these spaces is
usually the appropriate option. Many users do not like seeing sky crappers ads
as they claim they make their blogs appear unprofessional. With GOOGLE ADSENSE
ads you can try them as you never know If they have a higher cpc rates compared
to any other ads you may opt to place.

Along the footer on the main page of your blog I recommend to use at
least a small ad like leader board. A leader board stretches through the main
page and since it is bellow the contents of the blog its not prone to cover any
content.
For a professional
view of the blog, publishers should avoid using big ads at the bottom of the
blog.
Ads within the content
If you wish
to place ads in the middle of your contents then you should avoid big ads. i.e
Big Banners, and sky crappers.
Well placing
ads in between content is not always a must but many publishers opt to place
them. Before you place ads within the content I would recommend those with
articles with 500+ words. This is to make the blog look a little bit professional.
The best ads to use are a small square banners or leader board. Also Mobile ads in between the ads would work
well as many of internet users use mobile phones rather than desktops.
